With over 20 years of successful game development and management experience in the interactive entertainment industry, Doug has positioned BreakAway as a leader in game development for entertainment and serious games, as well as developing modeling, and 3D visualization technology.
Doug began his career at America Online, where he was instrumental in creating the AOL client/server infrastructure. He has held senior-level management positions at MicroProse, ABC Sports, and Disney where he worked on critically acclaimed titles such as Darklands, Gunship 2000, Sid Meier’s Civilization, and ABC’s Monday Night Football.
He was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004.
A technology industry veteran with strategic marketing, branding, and product positioning expertise, Deb is responsible for leading development efforts across the entertainment and serious product segments of BreakAway.
She brings experience in senior management positions at interactive entertainment companies and successful Internet enterprises such as Eager Street Group, MicroProse Software, and OT Sports, a Disney/ABC venture.
Deb was named one of the Daily Record's Innovator's of the Year for 2004, received a Bravo Award from Smart Woman magazine in the summer of 2005 and has been named a 2006 Distinguished Alumni & Dean's Recognition Award recipient of Towson University.
With more than 25 years of experience in business development and operations in the technology industry, Paul brings a proven track record of success in positioning technology companies. He is responsible for marketing, business development, sales, and product management for BreakAway’s serious games products.
Prior to joining BreakAway, Paul was the Assistant Secretary for Technology Strategy and Business Development for the Department of Business and Economic Development in the State of Maryland, where he was responsible for driving the effort to position Maryland as a leader in technology and for business growth across the State.
He served in a variety of leadership capacities at Netcordia, Inc., a leading provider of Network Management focused Appliances; Four-M Associates, a business accelerator; and TidePoint Corporation, a Managed Services Provider simplifying inter-company e-business.
Dave Curtin brings to BreakAway over 15 years of experience in the gaming industry ranging from leading large development teams for Microsoft to playing a key role in the development of the hit franchises, Microsoft Golf and Links. During his tenure, Dave has developed expertise in project management processes and cross-platform architecture development. As studio manager at Microsoft, Dave lead the development of numerous top PC and Xbox games including Amped:Freestyle Snowboarding, Top Spin Tennis and Links 2004 for the Xbox.
Dave began his game career in 1989 at Access Software Inc. as an assembly language programmer. He built a successful long-term relationship with Microsoft producing the Microsoft Golf series. He was Vice President of Research & Development when Microsoft bought the company in 1999. A graduate of Brigham Young University, he holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in Electronics Engineering.
